Purchased Images are saved as RGB, High Quality, JPEG compression, and uploaded via FTP to our server where the purchaser can access them, and then dowload (right-click, save to HD) to their hard drive. When viewed on the Server Directory the compressed image file size will appear to be smaller than expected; however, once the image is downloaded and opened in your image editing program, the file size will be as originally ordered. We suggest, then, savingt the image in a TIFF format, which is non-lossy, and keep it as your master.

Before purchasing an image you should read the Terms of Agreement. By purchasing an image from Alldrit Studios, Inc, you agree to, and are bound by these terms.

We accept card payments (Visa, Mastercard & American Express) via our SSL secure server ordering facility, accessed via the light box feature from any thumbnail page. Once payment has been authorized, we will then upload the image(s) via FTP to the server usually within 24 hrs; or if preferred, by post on a CD-Rom. Of course, Note Cards will be mailed by Canada Post.

About File Formats
Images distributed in RGB colour mode and are ready to use with a resolution of 300 ppi (pixels per inch) For web use, it is best to re size the image to its final size on the web page at 72 ppi. (screen resolution). For digital or desktop printing, images are ready to be imported into your layout software. If the purpose of the layout is for offset printing, you, or your printer or prepress bureau will translate the files to CMYK mode based on the type of printing press to be used. Images purchased in CMYK are delivered with a default setting for US Web coated (SWOP). CMYK colour mode increases the file size by approximately 30%.

About JPEG Compression
Our images are compressed for delivery as JPEG files to shorten the download time. JPEG is a standard photographic compression language use by most image banks, photographers and the media industry. It stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. JPEG files can be read by nearly all image and layout software. JPEG compression allows a much faster electronic delivery of the files from our server to your computer. After opening, you can save the image in different file format such as TIFF (Tag Image File Format) which is a non-lossy standard file format generally used for storage of images. We can deliver a picture in its original Tiff format, ready for you to download, via our FTP server, if preferred. Please request this by email when ordering.

About Object photos
Object photos are photographed on white background and have a clipping path included. After the subject is selected it can be copy/pasted into your composite or layout. If the image is imported or placed directly onto a layout page, the clipping path should hide the white background. Some understanding of close cropping items is needed. Because of the white background, object photos will have much smaller file size when compressed and will download faster.
